From drawing to façade

A custom cross, in seven stages

The visual identity, cross proportions and façade position are planned together. These stages connect the quotation, manufacturing and installation of a custom pharmacy sign.

  1. 01

    Prepare the project and quotation

The cross design, required dimensions and photographs of the building provide an initial picture of the project. Access, installation height and the electrical connection help define a suitable proposal.

The quotation covers the sign and the conditions of its installation.
  2. 02

    Assess the façade and mounting

The mounting surface, cross position and bracket clearance are considered together. Where required, a technical site visit establishes measurements, access and fixing points.

A position planned around the façade and the view from the street.
  3. 03

    Approve the drawing and quotation

The dimensioned drawing defines the cross shape, white motif and mounting-arm proportions. The drawing and quotation are approved before manufacturing begins.

The drawing specifies an 83 × 88.70 cm cross, with bracket projection shown as 32 cm.

Project proportions

A cross designed to project from the façade.

The drawing defines the cross dimensions and the projection of its bracket. The raised form repeats the white motif and green outline on both faces. A black bracket provides the offset for a perpendicular position on the façade.

  1. Manufacture the cross and bracket

Both faces follow the cross shape and white motif of the visual identity. The raised construction, green outline and black mounting arm form a sign designed to project from the façade.

Raised construction · Two faces and a projecting bracket.
Manufacturing · The design repeated on the reverse face.
  2. Check the lighting in the workshop

The cross is switched on in the workshop to assess its green illuminated outline. Front, side and overall views show the light path and depth of the sign before installation.

Lighting check · The green face and illuminated outline.
Workshop check · The cross and bracket together.
  3. Install the projecting cross

The mounting arm positions the cross perpendicular to the façade. Its placement, fixings and electrical connection are considered as part of the building installation.

On-site placement · The cross above the shopfront.

A cross that stands away from the building

    • Cross position above the shopfront
    • Black mounting arm and façade fixing points
    • Planning the lighting connection

The on-site view shows the mounted sign and how it sits above the shopfront.

  4. Create a landmark for the pharmacy

The green cross stands away from the building while echoing the shopfront colours. Both faces present the pharmacy identity to people approaching from either direction along the street.

The finished project · The other face of the façade sign.
