Neon Electrical Installation
Installation time: ~1 minute
Materials: neon, dimmer and remote control (optional), 12 V power supply
Install the LED neon sign, including its backboard, at least 2 metres from the transformer/power supply and from every dimmer or controller.
Steps
-
Connect the neon to the output of the dimmer.
-
Connect the dimmer to the 12 V output of the power supply (respect the + / − polarity).
-
Plug the power supply into the mains socket.
-
Turn on and adjust the neon with the remote control (make sure the remote’s batteries are working).
Notes
-
The remote lets you decrease/increase brightness and enable/modify flashing modes, if you wish.
-
If you opted for RGB LEDs, the remote also lets you change colors.
-
Without a dimmer: You can connect the neon directly to the 12 V power supply; the neon will be always on at 100% with no control.
-
Safety: Use only a suitable 12 V power supply; never connect the neon directly to 230 V.

Safety Recommendations (Read Before Installation)
✅ Where you can use it
-
Indoor models: use indoors, in dry, well-ventilated rooms.
-
Models expressly sold as “Outdoor / Waterproof”: suitable for permanent outdoor use, including in rain and cold. Their lifespan may vary depending on weather conditions.
-
Mount on stable, non-combustible / low-combustibility surfaces (concrete, brick, plaster, metal, tile)
🚫 Do NOT install on / near
-
Acoustic foam, polyurethane foam, polystyrene, cardboard, paper, textiles
-
Decorative moss / dried plants
-
Open flames / heaters / stoves / fireplaces
-
Areas with steam, grease, chemical vapors, or excessive heat
🔌 Electrical safety (must follow)
-
Use only the original power supply/transformer (or a certified equivalent)
-
Plug into a proper, protected outlet
-
Never modify wiring, connectors, transformer, dimmer, or controller
-
Stop using immediately if you notice: burning smell, discoloration, overheating, flickering, damaged cable/connector
💧 Protect the transformer and controls from moisture
-
An outdoor-rated transformer can be supplied when expressly specified in your order. Otherwise, the transformer/power supply must remain dry and protected from moisture.
-
Dimmers and controllers must always remain dry and protected from water, splashes and condensation.
-
Do not place these components where water may accumulate.
🌬️ Ventilation (important)
-
Keep the transformer/controller uncovered with free airflow
-
Do not enclose them in a tight box or behind insulation/soft materials
🔧 Cable handling (avoid damage)
-
Never lift or move the sign by the cable
-
Avoid pinching or sharply bending cables
-
Use cable clips / strain relief so the connector doesn’t carry cable weight
🛠️ Professional installation (recommended)
-
Recommended for: commercial spaces, public venues, high mounting, fixed wiring, or complex setups
-
Use a qualified electrician/installer when in doubt
🔍 Quick maintenance checks
-
Every few weeks: check mounting screws, cable condition, and transformer heat
-
If anything seems abnormal: switch off and unplug, then contact support
